China produced 60.25 million t of crude steel in May

According to the data released by NBS, in January-May of this year, China's overall crude steel output amounted to 290.35 million t, increasing by 8.5% compared to the same period of last year. While in May alone China's crude steel had reached 60.25 million t, rising by 7.8% year over year. In addition, China's average daily crude steel output came to 1.9435 million t in May, dropping by 24500 t month over month.

Besides, China had produced 54.57 million t of the pig iron in May and the year-to-date pig iron output totaled 269.46 million t, both of which had risen by 6.4% and 7.3% respectively year on year. On the other hand, China's steel product output stood at 76.37 million t in May and the year-to-date steel product output stood at 358.66 million t, both of which had surged by 10.6% and 12.3% respectively compared to the corresponding period of last year.
