At present, the domestic iron ore concentrate market keeps flat by and large but deals are still band. In detail, the EXW prices (excl.taxes) for wet basis iron ore concentrates in Tangshan are hovering around 930-920 yuan per metric tons. However the same-grade iron ore concentrates in Wuan and Jianping are down by 5 yuan per metric tons as compared to previous time. At the same time, the iron ore market in East China and South Central China are also flat on aggregate.
It is learnt that the domestic steel mills have suffered tremendous losses due to stagnant market demand. Thus most of them are reluctant to place big iron ore procurement orders. As a consequence, the price for imported iron ore is also remaining at steady levels.
