Inner Mongolia based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) has announced that in May this year its outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel amounted to 837,400 tonne, 880,400 tonne and 839,600 tonne respectively.
In May, the finished steel shipments of the company totaled 884,500 tonne of which 559,100 tonne was transported by rail and 325,400 tonne by truck.
Meanwhile, in given month Baogang Group's subsidiary Baogang International Trade exported 102,300 tonne of finished steel, increasing by 18,900 tonne year on year. The value of these exports reached USD 64.74 million, up USD 8.04 million year on year.
In the January to May period of the current year, Baogang International Trade exported 508,600 tonne of finished steel, increasing by 20% with an export value of USD 305 million, up six percent, both year on year.
