China’s industrial value-added output up 9.2 percent in May

In May this year, the total industrial value-added output of China's large and medium-sized enterprises was up 9.2 percent year on year and 0.62 percent month on month, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.

The year-on-year increase was down 0.1 percentage point compared to the year-on-year growth rate registered in April this year.

The total industrial value-added output of China's large and medium-sized enterprises in the first five months of the year was up 9.4 percent year on year.

The industrial value-added outputs of 41 industrial sectors in China witnessed year-on-year increases in May. In particular, the industrial value-added output of ferrous metal smelting and processing sector increased by 9.1 percent, the industrial value-added output of the general equipment manufacturing sector increased by 9.4 percent, while an increase of 13.3 percent was witnessed for the automobile manufacturing sector, with an increase of 0.5 percent for the railway, ship, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing sector, a rise of 10.5 percent for the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing sector, and an increase of 12.5 percent in the industrial value-added output of the computer, communications and other electronic equipment sector, all year on year.

In May, total output of finished steel in China amounted to 91.19 million mt, up 11.3 percent year on year; total automotive output in China amounted to 1.928 million units, up 15.7 percent year on year, while total output of passenger cars in China amounted to 1.05 million units, up 12.2 percent year on year.
