Taiwan’s steel export values rise in August

According to data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, the country's export values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel totaled US$1.45 billion in August, increasing by 7.6% year on year and remaining flat from July.

Meanwhile, Taiwan's import values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel were at US$776.5 million in August, falling by 16.1% from July and decreasing by 17.5% year on year.

In the first eight months of this year, Taiwan's export and import values of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to US$11.6 billion and US$7.6 billion, falling by 4% and 10.6% year on year respectively.
