It's reported that Italy's ILVA steelworks plans to keep one of its blast furnaces in southern Italy operating for another 2.5 years in spite of an immediate shutdown order issued last July by a court, saying it is an ongoing environmental disaster endangering the lives of local residents.

It is said that the biggest furnace in Europe, ILVA's Blast Furnace 5 in Taranto plant will be shut down July 1st, 2015 till December 31st, 2015 for reconstruction.
