Russia’s steel product output rises in Jan-Sept period

According to statistics released by the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), Russia's output of steel products totaled 46.90 million tons in the first nine months of this year, rising by 6% year on year.

At the same time, the country's output of steel pipes was at 7.2 million tons, falling by 8.2%; that of crude steel was at 53.50 million tons, rising by 5% and that of pig iron was at 38 million tons, increasing by 6.6%, all compared to that in the same period of a year ago.

Meanwhile, Russia exported 625,000 tons of steel flat products in September, increasing by 8.8% year on year. In the first nine months of this year, the country's exports of steel flat products amounted to 5.55 million tons, falling by 4.8% year on year.
