US crude steel output rises

According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.792 million short tons of crude steel in the week ended on November 17th, up by 2.6% from a week earlier and increasing by 0.9% in comparison of 1.809 million short tons in the same period of a year earlier.

In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US steelmaking facilities was at 72.5%, lower than 90.7% in a week ago.
