According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.857 million short tons of crude steel in the week ended on March 2nd, rising by 0.8% from a week earlier while falling by 7.2% year on year.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US steelmaking facilities was at 77.5%, higher than 76.9% in a week ago.
