US initiates AD investigation on stainless pressure pipe

The US Department of Commerce started an antidumping investigation on welded stainless pressure pipes from Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, in response to the petitions made by Bristol Metals LLC, Felker Brothers Corp. and Outokumpu Stainless Pipe, Inc.

It's known that the products involved in this case are circular welded austenitic stainless pressure pipes with an outside diameter 14' or less.

The values of the welded stainless pressure pipe imports imported from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam totaled US$18.6 million, US$22.9 million and US$18 million in 2012, according to data of the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

Meanwhile, the alleged dumping margins for Malaysian exporters are 22.67%~22.73%; those for Thailand exporters are at 23.77%~24.01% and those for Vietnamese exporters are at 89.40~90.80%.

The ITC will make a preliminary injury determination on or before July 1st
