Ilva to suspend No.2 BF production at Taranto works

It's reported that Italy's Ilva plans to suspend its No.2 blast furnace (BF) at its Taranto works, starting from July 2nd with a three-month shutdown.

An official of Ilva said that the company started the procedures and lowered the charges of raw materials few weeks. It expected to suspend the production by July 2nd.

Meanwhile, it's learned that the shutdown of No. 2 BF was due to a slowdown in the market instead of a requirement of Ilva's environmental authorization (AIA).
