According to data released by Brazil's steel distributors association (Inda), its members' sales of steel products totaled 347,800 tons in June, down slightly by 0.3% year on year and falling by 6% from May.
In the first half of this year, the steel sales amounted to 2.14 million tons, falling by 1.7% year on year.
At the end of June, the Brazilian distributors' steel stocks totaled 1.1 million tons, rising by 13.3% year on year and remaining unchanged from the end of May.
In June, Inda's members purchased 390,000 tons of steel from steel producers, soaring by 21.5% year on year but falling by 5.7% from April.
