Brazil initiates AD investigation on galvanized steel wires from Sweden

It's reported that the Brazil's secretary of foreign trade (Secex) has initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of galvanized steel wires from Sweden, covering the period from January 2012 through December 2012.

Belgo Bekaert and Morlan have urged the government to start the AD investigation on imports of steel wires with diameters of 1.7mm-3.5mmn and a zinc layer of 20-70 g/m2.

Secex indicated that the country's imports of galvanized steel wires totaled 134,132 tons in 2012 with average prices of US$1,128.36/ton FOB and the imports from Sweden accounted for 13.6% of total with a higher average price of US$1,178.22/ton.
