According to data of the French Steel Federation (FFA), the country's crude steel output totaled 10,529,000 tons in the first eight months of this year, falling by 2.3% year on year.
In the given period of time, the crude steel output from electric arc furnace (EAF) totaled 3,666,000 tons, decreasing by 10.8%; that from blast furnace was at 6,862,000 tons, increasing by 2.3%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
In August alone, the country's crude steel output totaled 1,161,000 tons, soaring by 21.6% year on year.
