According to data released by the Brazilian flats distributors' association, Inda, the shipments made by the country's independent flat steel distributors and service centers totaled 440,500 tons in October, rising by 7.5% from September and increasing by 9.8% year on year.
Besides, the service centers purchased around 429,800 tons from mills in October, growing by 6% from a month ago.
Meanwhile, the inventories owned by distributors totaled 1.114 million tons in October, down slightly from a month earlier.
In the January-October period, the shipments amounted to 3.8 million tons, rising by 4% year on year.
