Summary: In late April 2023, Global Technology held a ceremony for the trail production of two projects and the start of construction of one project.

On 26 April, 2023, Fujian Zhongxin Fluoride Global Technology Co., Ltd. (Global Technology) held a ceremony for the trail production of the 5,000 t/a fluorobenzene project and the 30,000 t/a anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF) renovation project and the start of construction of the 5,000 t/a sodium hexafluorophosphate (NaPF6) project in the New Fluorine Material Industrial Park of Qingliu County, Sanming City, Fujian Province.

Global Technology has continuously extended its industrial chain based on basic raw materials, sulphuric acid and hydrofluoric acid and invested in projects of downstream fluorochemical projects with advanced production technologies in recent years. Specifically, the 5,000 t/a NaPF6 project can add annual output value of around USD289.63 million (RMB2.00 billion) after it is completed and put into production.

Global Technology, founded in 2007, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Zhongxin Fluoride Materials Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang Zhongxin Fluoride). Zhejiang Zhongxin Fluoride acquired Fujian Global Mining Industry Co., Ltd. (Fujian Global Mining) in 2018; afterwards, Fujian Global Mining has developed into a midstream and downstream fine chemical manufacturer from an extensive chemical manufacturer. Currently, the fluorine-enriched fine chemicals of Fujian Global Mining cannot meet the market demand, so it steps into fluorine-enriched electronic chemical sector.

Zhejiang Zhongxin Fluoride has established several fluorochemical projects in Qingliu County, including new type electrolyte material project and fluorine-enriched fine chemical expansion project:

  •       New type electrolyte material project—This project, with a total investment of USD156.40 million (RMB1.08 billion), is divided into two phases. Specifically, the first phase project includes 5,000 t/a NaPF6 and 5,000 t/a lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI); the second phase contains 5,000 t/a NaPF6, 3,000 t/a lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl)imide, 2,000 t/a trifluoromathanesulfonyl chloride, and 1,000 t/a fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC).
  •
  •       Fluorine-enriched fine chemical expansion project—With an estimated investment of USD43.44 million (RMB300.00 million), this project builds production lines of 20,000 t/a fluorobenzene, 7,000 t/a high-purity sodium fluoride, 50,000 t/a high-purity potassium fluoride and expands AHF capacity from 30,000 t/a to 70,000 t/a.
