Vice Minister Qu Dongyu attends Parallel Meeting on Agriculture of 1st China-U.S. CED

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and Mr. Jason Hafemeister, Acting Deputy Undersecretary of the United States Department of Agriculture, co-chaired the Parallel Meeting on Agriculture of the First China-U.S. Comprehensive Economic Dialogue (CED) in Washington, D.C. on the afternoon of 19 July 2017 local time.

 

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on topics such as agriculture policies and trade, export of cooked poultry of China origin to the U.S., two-way market access and counter trade in terms of poultry, joint researches on U.S. soybeans, removal of Detention without Physical Examination (DWPE) measures on China's dairy and aquatic products exported to the U.S., as well as cancellation of transfer of Siluriformes Fish inspection, reaching basic consensus for further agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
 

Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Mr. Yu Jianhua, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Mr. Li Yuanping, and Acting Chief Agricultural Negotiator of the Office of the United States Trade Representative Ms. Sharon Bomer Lauritsen attended the meeting.
