Minister Han Changfu met with Ms. Kim Reynolds, Governor of Iowa of the U.S., in Beijing on 25 July 2017. The two sides exchanged views on promoting bilateral agricultural cooperation.
Minister Han noted that the MOA and Iowa share solid foundation for agricultural cooperation. He hoped that the two sides could continue working together to explore new areas and ways of cooperation. He suggested that the two sides identify and work on a number of cooperation areas and projects that require intensified efforts from both sides and facilitate two-way investment between agricultural businesses. He also hoped that Iowa could play a greater role in China-U.S. agricultural cooperation and push for reciprocal, equal and win-win development.
Ms. Reynolds extended her appreciation to Minister Han and said that Iowa highly values agricultural cooperation with China and hopes to export more premium agricultural products to China. She also expressed her willingness to make more efforts to improve the cooperative relations between China and the U.S. in the agricultural sphere.
