Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Stephen Mills Badger, Chairman of the Mars, in Beijing on the afternoon of 21 March 2017.
Vice Minister Qu noted that, as one of the top transnational corporations in the food industry, the Mars has been increasing investment in China in recent years, contributing to China's agricultural development and achieving rapid growth of its own business. He hoped that the US agricultural business community, including the Mars, could play a positive role in furthering China-U.S. agricultural cooperation and China-U.S. relations.
Mr. Stephen Mills Badger stated that the Mars will further enhance cooperation with the MOA, expand its investment in agriculture in China and capitalized on its Global Food Safety Center to facilitate quality and safety improvement of agricultural products in China.
The two sides also exchanged views on the quality and safety of agricultural products, variety improvement of high-oleic peanuts, pet food production and disease control, among others.
