Filipino fisheries delegation visits China

A Filipino fisheries delegation visited China and participated in a series of technical training, field study and other exchangesactivities during Jan. 9-13, 2017.

 

Chinese officials from competent departments of MOA, Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality met with the delegation and the two sides exchanged views on fisheries development.

 

Experts from the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences provided the Filipino delegation lectures on deep-water cage culture, pond-based farming, fry and fingerling breeding and nutritious feeds, among others,which were well received and highly appreciated by the Filipino attendees. The Filipino side stated that China has advanced fisheries technologies and the training will facilitate the fisheries development in the Philippines and increase the competitiveness of Filipino aquatic products in the international market. Theylook forward to more training opportunities in China,hoping that Chinese experts could also visit the Philippines and provide more field guidance.

 

The training is the first project to implement relevant consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries on resuming the bilateral fisheries cooperation.
