Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Krzysztof Jurgiel, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and his delegation in Kunming, Yunnan Province on Nov. 5, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening pragmatic agricultural cooperation in the future.
Minister Han extended warm welcome to Minister Jurgiel for his second visit to China and his participation in the Meeting of China-CEEC Ministers of Agriculture and International Forum on Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation. Minister Han noted that, thanks to cooperation through the bilateral and multilateral platforms, including the "16+1' (China-CEEC) mechanism and China-Poland Agricultural Cooperation Working Group, China and Poland have gained remarkable achievements in cooperation in agricultural S&T, food safety, livestock, veterinary service and sustainable agricultural development.
Minister Han suggested that the two sides should support the China-Poland Center for Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation, broaden agricultural cooperation areas to promote all-round cooperation in agricultural trade and investment, personnel exchanges and training, agricultural technologies and policy communication, and jointly advance the agricultural cooperation under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
Mr. Jurgiel expressed his appreciation and extended congratulation for China's successful holding the Meeting of China-CEEC Ministers of Agriculture and International Forum on Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation. He also positively responded to Minister Han's suggestions, expressing that Poland is willing to play a key role as a major country in Central and Eastern Europe in promoting China-CEEC agricultural cooperation and also to push forward the cooperation under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
