Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Andra Rupprechter, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of the Republic of Austria, in Beijing, on Nov. 9, 2016.
Minister Han referred to the MoU on China-Austria agricultural cooperation signed last year, noting that it had not only reflected the strong willingness of both sides to strengthen agricultural cooperation but also promoted the establishment of the bilateral cooperation mechanism in the agricultural sector.
Minister Han suggested that the two countries hold the first meeting of China-Austria Agricultural Working Group as soon as possible to further improve the cooperation mechanism and boost the cooperation in animal health, agro-product quality and safety, organic agriculture, and other areas. China is willing to work with Austria, on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and common development, to lift the bilateral agricultural cooperation to a new level.
Mr. Rupprechter agreed with Minister Han's suggestions. He said that Austria highly values the agricultural cooperation and exchanges with China, and will join hands with China to fully implement the MoU and deepen the bilateral agricultural cooperation.
