Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Jacek Bogucki, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, in Beijing on Nov.15, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening agricultural cooperation and topics of common interests.
Vice Minister Qu noted that China and Poland enjoy traditional friendship and maintain steady and close agricultural cooperation. The two sides have built a sound foundation of cooperation in agricultural S&T, trade and veterinary services, among others.
Vice Minister Qu made the following suggestions for further agricultural cooperation.
1. Scaling up the efforts of the China-Poland Agricultural Science and Technology Promotion Center to widen the cooperation areas for more fruitful outcomes.
2. Leading together the China-CEEC (16+1) agricultural cooperation to facilitate the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
3. Creating platforms for exchanges and cooperation between businesses and experts to promote bilateral agricultural trade.
Mr. Bogucki agreed with Vice Minister Qu and expressed the willingness of the Polish side to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and play a bigger role in the CEECs, so as to promote multilateral and bilateral agricultural cooperation.
