The chief agronomist noted that agriculture comprises an important part of the bilateral friendly cooperative relations between China and Canada and there's a long history and solid foundation of cooperation between China and Saskatchewan. In recent years, the bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanism between China and Canada is increasingly improved, with constantly expanding area of cooperation and steady growth of agricultural investment and trade. Both sides are glad with the progress.

The chief agronomist made the following suggestions for deepening the bilateral agricultural cooperation: first, making better use of the existing cooperation mechanism to promote the in-depth development of the bilateral agricultural cooperation; second, intensifying scientific exchanges and technological cooperation in a pragmatic manner while facilitating cooperation between research institutions for public education; third, strengthening agricultural trade and investment cooperation by conducting trade and investment promotion activities.
