Shaanxi province, one of China’s major
coal
production bases, produced 25.44 million tonnes of raw coal in April, dropping 17.65% on year and down 0.32% from March, showed the latest data from the Shaanxi Administration of Coal Mine Safety.Coal output over January-April fell 13.8% from the previous year to 110.7 million tonnes, data showed.Of this, coal mines owned by the central and provincial governments produced 29.92 million and 40.31 million tonnes of raw coal, down 17.16% and up 9.61% from the year prior, respectively.Coal output of the mines owned by municipal and prefecture governments stood at 40.47 million tonnes, dropping 27.12% on year.Total coal sales during the same period reached 108.4 million tonnes or 97.96% of the total coal output of the province, dropping 14.2% on year, with sales in April standing at 25.02 million tonnes or 98.37% of total output in the same month.
