Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua meets Governor of Zamfara State of Nigeria

Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua met with Abdul''aziz Abubakar Yari, Governor of Zamfara State of Nigeria, and his delegation in Beijing on April 7, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing China-Nigeria agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Chen noted that Nigeria has abundant agricultural resources, and the new government attaches great importance to agricultural development and food security. The two countries have great potential for cooperation in agriculture, and Chen made a four-point proposal as follows: first, build a China-Nigeria agricultural cooperation mechanism and promote personnel exchanges as well as S&T cooperation; second, push forward investment cooperation in agricultural machinery and upgrade agricultural mechanization of Nigeria; third, strengthen multilateral cooperation under the framework of South-South Cooperation and dispatch more Chinese experts to Nigeria; fourth, share China's agricultural development experience with Nigeria and facilitate agricultural policy exchanges.
Abdul''aziz Abubakar Yari fully agreed with Chen and expressed his willingness to boost agricultural cooperation between the central and local authorities of Nigeria and China in a down-to-earth manner.
