Ayurvet ties up with Philippine firm to promote natural feed additives

Ayurvet Ltd., one of India''s leading animal care companies specialising in 100% natural and safe herbal products, recently tied up with Filipino firm 3Skatt Trading Inc. to promote plant-based and all-natural feed additives that they claim can provide effective and safer alternatives to synthetic and chemical products.

The business alliance, which grants 3SKatt exclusive distributorship rights of Ayurvet products in the Philippines, was officially forged when Ayurvet Managing Director Mohan Ji Saxena, along with wife, Sangeena, made a two-day visit to Manila before Christmas to meet their local partner 3Skatt Marketing Director Sheryll Sampang,

The trip allowed the Indian company official to visit the Bureau of Animal Industry, meet with agribusiness journalists and interact with local livestock and poultry industry players already using Ayurvet products in their production.

The partnership comes amid growing global and domestic concern about the overuse of antibiotics and artificial growth promotants in feed and livestock production. The practice has increasingly become more expensive to livestock producers and less effective in combating animal diseases due to development of antibiotic resistance and other side effects that pose serious animal and human health risks, according to medical and veterinary authorities.

"We came here to offer quality and cost-effective herbal solutions for animal health and nutrition that serve as alternatives to chemical-based feeds and synthetics," Saxena told journalists.

"We are confident of our products because they cater to a wide range of animal species and have undergone rigorous scientific tests in laboratories and actual field trials to prove their efficacy and effectiveness," he added.

For her part, Sampang said the partnership with Ayurvet should provide broiler, swine, layer, dairy and aquaculture farmers a better, safer, more sustainable and more environment-friendly substitute to address the various animal health and nutritional issues they face in their farms daily.

''Safe herbal products''

3Skatt Trading Inc., based in Valenzuela City, a part of Metro Manila, is a family-owned agri commodities trading firm established in 2012 as an offshoot to an expanding family-owned animal feeds distribution business put up in1986.

It is engaged in distribution and indent order of feed raw materials to major Philippine feed millers. Since 2014, it diversified into feed additives, particularly herbal and phytogenic-based products from India, a country that has built centuries-old tradition and scientific expertise in dealing with alternative eco-sustainable solution to chemical and synthetic products used by the animal industry.

Ayurvet Ltd., formerly known as Dabur Ayurvet Limited, is a New Delhi-based producer, distributor and exporter of herbal animal health and nutrition products developed using traditional ayurvedic veterinary medicine and modern science.
