Vice Minister Qu Dongyu co-chairs 7th Meeting of China-Japan Vice-Minister Level Dialogue on Agriculture

The 7th Meeting of China-Japan Vice-Minister Level Dialogue on Agriculture was held in Beijing on March 21, 2016. Vice Minister Qu Dongyu co-chaired the Meeting with Mr. Kazuyoshi Honkawa, Administrative Vice Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. The two sides exchanged views on China-Japan agricultural cooperation in a number of areas in a candid and friendly manner.
Vice Minister Qu stated that Japan enjoys advanced technologies, management strength and high-caliber human resources, while China has a constantly upgrading domestic market. The two sides have the conditions for all-round pragmatic cooperation in agriculture. Vice Minister Qu exchanged views in details with his Japanese counterpart on topics including agricultural policies, food security, cooperation mechanisms, S&T exchanges, control of trans-boundary animal and plant diseases and multi-lateral cooperation, and the two sides reached broad consensus.
Mr. Kazuyoshi Honkawa fully agreed with Vice Minister Qu, expressing that he will strive to promote the fast development in bilateral agricultural cooperation.
