of 14th China-Venezuela High-Level Mixed Committee meet in Beijing

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and Mr. José Aguilera, Vice Minister for agriculture and lands of Venezuela, attended the Agricultural Subcommittee Session of the 14th Meeting of the China-Venezuela High-Level Mixed Committee in Beijing on Sept. 1, 2015. The two sides reviewed the agricultural projects jointly conducted in Venezuela and exchanged views on furthering bilateral agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Qu stated that China-Venezuela relations date back to a long time ago.The two countries agreed to upgrade the bilateral relations to comprehensive strategic partnership during Chinese President Xi Jinping''s visit to Venezuela in July of 2014. Qu pointed out that agricultural cooperation is an integral part of the bilateral trade & Economic cooperation. Consideration should be given to both the immediate and the long-term interests in developing bilateral relations. China is willing to work with the Venezuelan side to boost the practical cooperation in agriculture, make it go steadily and go far.
To ensure effective implementation of the joint projects to benefit the Venezuelan people, Vice Minister Qu put forward the following suggestions:
(1) Give full play to the mechanism of the Subcommittee on Agriculture under the China-Venezuela High-Level Mixed Committee to provide guidance for the orderly progress in agricultural cooperation projects;
(2) Strengthen agricultural S&T exchanges and cooperation to improve agricultural productivity; and
(3) Promote the implementation of agricultural projects based on the need of Venezuela with enterprises playing the dominant role.
Mr. José Aguilera fully agreed with Qu on his comments and suggestions. He stated that the friendship between the two peoples has been constantly deepened and the close cooperative relations between the two countries have evolved into fraternal relations.The Venezuelan side appreciates China for its long-standing understanding of and support to Venezuela, and is looking forward to maintaining bilateral communication and further intensifying bilateral agricultural cooperation with concerted efforts.
