18th China Agricultural Product Processing Industry Investment and Trade Fair reaps fruitful results

The 18th China Agricultural Product Processing Industry Investment and Trade Fair was held successfully in Zhumadian, Henan Province from Sept.6 to 8, 2015. At the opening ceremony, MOA Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua emphasized that we should promote the development of agro-product processing industry and the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas. We should provide strong support for sounder development of agriculture and the countryside, and better well-beings of farmers.
As a well-known industrial event, the fair has been held successfully for 18 sessions to date. This year the theme was cooperation, green technology and innovative development, underlining the principle of incorruption, high efficiency and safety in event organization.
Totally 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities took part in the fair, including over 170 delegations, 4,800 companies and nearly 20,000 business people. Altogether 35 domestic colleges, universities and research institutions including CAAS and CAU attended the fair. Other participants included representatives of 10 embassies, 2 international organizations as well as over 140 well-known agro-product processing enterprises from 21 countries like Russia and Germany. During the event 173 key investment programs were contracted with a total value of 53.8 bln yuan, and 680 latest research findings were released. Compared with previous sessions, the 18th fair reached a new record in terms of scale and administrative level.
