Hulunbuir City in northern China’s Inner Mongolia saw raw
coal
output from its above-sized producers (annual
revenue
over 20 million yuan) at 60.63 million tonnes over January-September, down 6.3% on year, showed data from the provincial government on October 22.Of the 19 above-sized coal firms in the city, combined coal output from the top four companies contributed 18.07 million tonnes or 80.1% of the total, though three of them posted negative growth. The output decrease in the first three quarters was mainly due to the production cut of Shenhua Baorixile Energy, which fell 15.4% on year to 18.07 million tonnes, though accounting for 29.8% of the total output of the city.Besides, the output cut and production halt in most companies with low capacity also reduced the production.Over January-September, the above-sized producers in Ewenke Autonomous Banner saw its raw coal output reach 22.3 million tonnes or 36.78% of the total across the city, up 0.93% on year, with total output value stood at 2.29 billion yuan ($361.08million).Meanwhile, Hulunbuir saw coal sales from its above-sized producers fall 6.7% on year to 51.34 million tonnes during the same period, with coals sold outside of city at 35.56 million tonnes, down 12.2% on year.In September, the average coal price at the city stood at 129 yuan/t, falling 15.85% from a year ago.
