Policy-making Session of Inter-ministerial Meeting on International Agricultural Cooperation opens in Beijing

The Policy-making Session of Inter-ministerial Meeting on International Agricultural Cooperation opened in Beijing on July 21, 2015. Minister Han Changfu attended and addressed the meeting.
Minister Han spoke highly of the work of all members of inter-ministerial coordination mechanism on international agricultural cooperation. He pointed out that agriculture has become one of the important diplomatic resources. We should take the initiative to promote international agricultural cooperation.
The government should enhance policy support to market entities of the "going global' strategy and help enterprises to reduce costs and risks and increase their international competitiveness.
Minister Han emphasized that we should accelerate the establishment of public information sharing mechanism. On the basis of integrating existing policy resources, we should actively push forward the policy making process, and build up a policy system including fiscal taxation, finance and insurance, diplomacy and foreign trade, public management and service, and so on.
The Office of the Inter-ministerial Meeting delivered a report on the overall progress of policy making work since the first plenary meeting. All the members introduced their developments, work plans and proposals for future work, respectively.
Vice Minister Qu Dongyu chaired the meeting. Bi Meijia, Chief Economist and Director General of the General Office of MOA, as well as some other senior officials from competent departments attended the meeting.
