Indiana's corn and soybean bodies sign MoUs with Chinese organisations
   
   

   

The agricultural trade relationship between Chinaand the US state of Indiana has recently been strengthened as the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with several Chinese organisations during a 12-day trade mission to the Mainland.

   

   

China has a "significant" demand for soybeans, David Lowe, the president of the Indiana Soybean Alliance, said, adding that the country is the world's top importer of soybean. According to Indiana, its Hoosier farmers delivered more than US$2 billion worth of soybeans and soymeal yearly.

   

   

Lowe is part of the visiting USdelegation which include Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann, the head of the team, and Dennis Maple, the president of the Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

   

   

During the visit, the delegation met Chinese officials and agricultural leaders as well as setting a booth at the Beijing Food Exhibition.
