China’s
coal
giant Shenhua Group gained nod from Sichuan Development and Reform Commission to build a new coal-fired power plant project in the province, said the company on July 16.The 2,000 MW project, located in Jiangyou City, would be supplied 4 million tonnes of coal per year by Ningdong mining field from Shenhua.
Environmental protection
equipment for efficient electrostatic dust removal, desulfurization and denitration will be installed, and the total investment for the power plant is estimated at 6.92 billion yuan ($1.13 billion).The project, constructed by China Shenhua Sichuan Energy Co., will further meet Sichuan’s power demand and promote the exploration of Ningdong mining field.Shenhua has gained approval for new coal-fired power plants projects with installed capacity totaling 6,640 MW since 2015. The group announced on May 28 that it gained approval to build a 1,320 MW power plant project in eastern Qinghai.
