Beck’s Superior Hybrids plants roots in central Iowa with expanded research and distributionBeck’s Superior Hybrids plants roots in central Iowa with expanded research and distribution" title="Share this link on Facebook">Atlanta, Indiana, USAMay 26, 2015 Beck’s, the largest family-owned, retail seed company in the United States, is pleased to announce building plans on a site purchased in Colfax, Iowa. Located on 80 acres, the site will feature a 90,000 square foot seed distribution facility, Practical Farm Research (PFR)® studies, as well as provide farmers with education and agronomic support.“We’re not only excited to plant our roots deeper in Iowa, but we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work more closely with Iowa farmers,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s. “By adding a facility in central Iowa, we will be able to provide local distribution, premier agronomic research and services, and the broadest choices of seed and traits available in agriculture.”The new location will also serve as a resource for farmers to learn and make decisions from Beck’s PFR program. Designed with the farmer in mind, Beck’s PFR studies highlight how different management practices and new
technologies
perform in field environments. Farmers can expect to see PFR studies during the 2016 growing season.“Our community takes great pride knowing Beck’s chose Jasper County to expand their research and distribution,” said Senator Chaz Allen, who serves as the executive director of the Jasper County Economic Development Corporation. “Beck’s is demonstrating a strong commitment to investing in the state of Iowa and I look forward to working with them as they continue to grow.”Currently, Beck’s has two additional locations in Iowa. Beck’s Mt. Pleasant facility provides seed processing and distribution, along with sales and agronomic support. Beck’s Marshalltown facility serves as a research station for Beck’s
corn
breeding and testing program.“As we continue to experience significant growth across our marketing area, we’re committed to staying true to our culture,” said Sonny Beck, CEO of Beck’s. “A culture built upon the hard work, faith and innovation of our family and family of employees. Each day, we look forward to providing our customers with the best in seed quality, field performance and service.”Beck’s Colfax facility is expected to be complete by the fall of 2016 and will provide multiple job opportunities including full-time positions in distribution, service, agronomic support, and PFR.
