An agreement on project of mechanism for new pesticides development was inked between ICAMA and Sinochem Group on December 20th, 2012.
The Signing Ceremony was followed by a meeting at which a total of 26 officials and experts from both sides had an in-depth discussion.
ICAMA Director General Sui Pengfei delivered a speech and noted that the joint project is an attempt to foster an efficient mechanism for new pesticides development and to guide the upgrading of pesticide sector in China.
Remarkable progress has been made in pesticide industry over the past three decades. However, the soft power of pharmaceuticals is yet to be increased to fill the gap between Chinese pharmaceuticals and transnational corporations, particularly in innovation capability and core competitiveness.
Sui pointed out that Chinese competent authorities should reflect on and reform the policies and practices involving administration, research, manufacturing and marketing links of pesticide industry.
The Project is expected to explore an approach to upgrading of pesticide industry in a wider and more general application scope by working hand in glove between ICAMA and Sinochem Group. Thus it is of great significance.
ICAMA Deputy Director General Gu Baogen, Chief Agronomist Ji Ying and officials from ICAMA divisions attended the event.
