Workshop on minor crop pesticide bioassay technology opens in Zhejiang

The Workshop on Minor Crop Pesticide Bioassay Technology was held in Quzhou of Zhejiang province from January 19 to 20, 2013. The Workshop aimed at regulating bioassay tests in relevance to subsidy programs for minor crop pesticide registration, and attracted representatives of seven pesticide bioassay organizations including Zhejiang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, Zhejiang University, Shaoxing Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Ningbo Academy of Agricultural Sciences, etc., as well as delegates of Qianjiang Biochemical Co., Ltd.
At the Workshop, experts delivered representations covering bioassay technologies of minor crop insecticides, fungicides and herbicides, and so on. In addition, the participants also discussed solutions to common problems in program implementation like target isolation and accession of in-door bioassay tests, and reached an agreement to use substitute targets belonging to the same genus but different species. It is expected that the above proposal, with an aim to facilitate bioassay tests in relevance to subsidy programs for minor crop pesticide registration, will be submitted to ICAMA for consideration in short term.
