Veterinary service is the foundation to develop modern animal production industry and improve the safety of food of animal origin.

Competent authorities at all levels should attach great importance and strengthen the following work: first, prevention and control of animal diseases. It is important to enhance the prevention and control of main zoonosis and common diseases, particularly the H7N9 avian influenza and PPR; second, monitoring on law enforcement of animal health. We should further strengthen regulation on live livestock and poultry transportation, and urge farmers to strictly observe related rules on trans-provincial animal transportation; third, veterinary drug management. We should make more efforts in monitoring veterinary drug residues and beefing up law enforcement in this regard; fourth, livestock and poultry slaughtering industry management. We should continue the special campaign to regulate pig slaughtering practices, and accelerate the qualification review of assigned pig slaughterhouse; and fifth, safe disposal of dead or sick livestock and poultry. We should adopt the accountability system, earnestly implement relevant policies, make appropriate plans and build up a safe collection and disposal system in accordance with local conditions, and deal with emergencies properly.

Totally 109 officials attended this training class, including heads of veterinary and animal health authorities from 31 provinces and municipalities, and representatives of MOA.
