Guangzhou China, May 26, 2011 - Tebuconazole, an excellent triazole fungicide, enjoys fast sale at present mainly thanks to the coming of its consumption peak season in the domestic market. According to CCM's Survey, the tebuconazole technical is in short supply at the same time, although most domestic producers are busy producing the product.
Major tebuconazole technical producers, such as Yancheng Limin Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yancheng Limin), Jiangsu Sevencontinent Green Chemical Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Sevencontinent), etc., reveal that the supply of tebuconazole technical is very tight currently.
The demand for tebuconazole eyes increase recently with the coming of its consumption peak season in the domestic market. Many pesticide formulation producers in China are busy producing tebuconazole formulations, such as 6% WP, 430g/L SC, 25% WP, etc., in order to timely capture more market share.
According to the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center (NATESC), wheat diseases, mainly including powdery mildew, sheath blight, stripe rust, etc., are predicated to hit 29.67 million hectares of wheat in 2011, up 9.77% compared with that of the previous year. Moreover, the total stricken area of rice diseases, such as sheath blight, false smut, blast, etc., will hit about 26.67 million ha. in 2011, up 5.26% over last year.
The breakout of severe diseases, not only in grain crops, but also in vegetables and fruits, is predicted to occur seriously in 2011, which will boost the sales of the tebuconazole formulations. Thanks to its excellent control effect on related crop diseases, the tebuconazole formulations are pretty popular among domestic peasants.
In addition, affected by the stringent national environmental policy of energy-saving and emission-reducing during the period of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), some small domestic producers of pesticide intermediates and tebuconazole technical have to suspend or stop the production, which also eases the vicious competition in tebuconazole industry to a certain extent and makes its supply tight at present.
With the robust demand for the tebuconazole and the hike prices of raw materials, the price of tebuconazole 97% TC has been continuing to go up since Jan. 2011. And its ex-factory has increased to USD13,008/t (RMB84,550/t) in early May 2011, up 11.23% compared with that of early Jan. 2011 (USD11,698/t). It is estimated that the price of tebuconazole technical will keep rising in the coming days.
