Guangzhou China, May 24, 2011 - Triazole Fungicides' market demand in China will witness an uptrend in the next five years, according to the report on Chinese triazole fungicide industry released by CCM in April 2011.
With the capacity expansion and many new production lines' being launched in recent years, China's total capacity of triazole fungicides has reached 50,000t/a in 2010, while total output of technical hits 20,000 tonnes in 2010.
Moreover, the domestic consumption of triazole fungicides hit 10,000 tonnes in 2010, up 10% compared with that in 2009. Statistic in this report also shows that triazolone, tebuconazole, and propiconazole are the top three triazole fungicides, sharing 80% of China's consumption market.
Thanks to the high average price of triazole fungicides compared with other categories, the gross market value of triazole fungicides has grown to more than USD4 billion in China, taking up 20% of total fungicide market value in 2010. The top three triazole fungicides by market value are triazolone, tebuconazole, and propiconazole, with a total amount of USD3 billion in 2010.
'The increasing market potential of triazole fungicides will be mainly driven by two factors.' Zhang Jialu, researcher of triazole fungicides project from CCM stated, 'On one hand, the application rate of most triazole fungicides on grain crops (wheat, corn, rice, etc.) is expected to continue to see stable increase, with more attention paid by formulation companies. On the other hand, control range of some new ones such as epoxiconazole will be enlarged in the future years, to be extended to more and more economic crops.'
It is expected that both output and domestic demand of triazole fungicides will continue to grow steadily in the next five years, and it is certain that triazole fungicide industry will drive the development of the whole fungicide industry so as to promote the upgrading of fungicide products in China.
