VIV Asia 2015 exhibitors meet the press on the eve of the opening of the March 11-13 trade show, the region''s biggest event for the feed-to-meat industries, at the Bitec exhibition centre in Bangkok.

This year''s edition of the bi-annual VIV Asia, the region''s biggest feed-to-meat exhibition, gets underway in Bangkok on March 11-13 with record-breaking 874 exhibitors from around the world. The last edition of the trade event, VIV Asia 2013, had only 770 exhibitors.
   


Mr.RuwanBerculo, VIV Asia project manager, announced at the show''s Meet the Press conference held March 9 at the Bitec exhibition centre in Bangkok, Thailand, that 78 companies are first-time exhibitors.

   


The top five countries with the most number of exhibitors, according to him, are China (140), Thailand (84), the Netherlands (77), France (72) and the United States (72).

   


More than 30,000 local and foreign guests are expected to visit the three-day event.

   


Pork production is the main theme of VIV Asia according to him. A day-long Pork Production Summit takes place on March 11. "This important program will bring together industry and academic representatives to review technical best practices related to pig health, farm management and feed and nutrition," Mr.Berculo said.

   


For the first time, VIV Asia will have a "Welcome China"special event. Slated on March 11 and 12, it is an interactive communication and knowledge sharing platform for guests from China and Chinese-speaking visitors from around the world.

   


Mr.Berculo said he expects a big number of Chinese visitors to visit the trade show.

   


Leading agribusiness knowledge provider eFeedLink is taking part in the "Welcome China" event with a conference on animal feed in the afternoon of March 12. Speakers include Shi Tao, eFeedLink''s senior consultant on feed and livestock, eFeedLink; T.C. Tan, region manager, DuPont Industrial Biosciences, who will talk on "Asia Feed Market Development Trends;" and, Steven Toh,senior product application manager,Kemin Asia, who will discuss "Feed Mill and Feed Quality Programme."

   


Dairy technologies and biogas production systems will also make their debut as special exhibition events at VIV Asia 2015. Both will have dedicated pavilionsand conferences during the show.

   


A special conference will also take place during the show on pet health and nutrition, particularly for dogs and cats.

   


The Pet Health and Nutrition Conference, set for March 11, will be a one-day meeting of great interest to Asian feed manufacturers and supply companies wanting to develop their activity in the pet sector.
