The award recognizes local companies and nonprofit entities that focus on employee health and wellness through workplace programs.Applicants submitted entries to the Triangle Business Journal, which partners with Healthiest Employers Inc. to help determine the winners. Businesses are ranked by comparing their responses, taking into consideration the different companies’ sizes. Wellness programs for all businesses are scored in comparison to regional and national employers.“We have made employee wellness a priority at Syngenta for many years,” says Michiel van Lookeren Campagne, head, biology research. “We offer several benefits for employees, starting with our Reaping Rewards Wellness Program 16 years ago. This award shows our commitment to wellness over the years, and we thank the Triangle Business Journal for recognizing us.”Created in 1998, Reaping Rewards recognizes employees for making healthier choices. The incentive-based program offers points to employees who attend educational sessions, participate in on-site physicals or take advantage of other health-related activities.
