Ningbo's annual aquaculture exports to reach record high
Ningbo's total export value of aquaculture products from January to September this year has reached US$592.6 million, an increase of 14.91% from last year. If this trend continues, Ningbo's annual aquaculture exports will definitely reach new record.
According to statistics recently released by the Aquaculture Industry Association, eight of Ningbo's top ten aquaculture exports from January to September, have been increasing steadily. Among them, tuna and skipjack processed products have reached 38,000 tons in exports this year, an increase of 63.27% compared to last year. This amounted to US$172 million and accounts for 29.02% of total exports, placing it at top place.
The second place belongs to frozen and dried sea cucumber, totaling 1,109 tons and US$ 47.1 million in exports, an increase of 68.34% & 65.79% respectively compared to last year. Third to sixth places are fish slices, live eels, frozen surimi and live fish.
It is worth mentioning that Ningbo's live fish export volume has reached 4,898 tons, an increase of 17.95% from last year. This amounted to US$33.6 million, an increase of 19.69% from last year.
