Amul marketing company takes 15th spot as top dairy organisation

   

   


   

   

India's Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under the Amul brand, has progressed toward a 15th position in an international ranking of dairyorganisations during the 2014 period.

   

   

The results are based on figures released by the International Farm Comparison Network(IFCN).

   

   

Previously, GCMF is ranked 20th about two years ago.

   


Key to GCMF's achievement is the fact that Amulhas increased its milk procurement by 40% from 2007, with a reported amount of 4.8 billion litre milk during 2013-14.

   


According to Amul's managing director, R.S Sodhi, GCMMF plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 22,000 crore in 2014-15.
