Guangzhou China Mar. 11, 2011 - There are about 140 bensulfuron-methyl technical manufactures and 300 formulation producers of bensulfuron-methyl in China. And the capacity of paraquat has exceeded 50,000 tonnes, accounting for 80% of the global capacity. Though paraquat has become the second largest herbicide, the applied area of paraquat is still less than that of glyphosate. There is fierce competition in tribenuron-methyl and quizalofop-P-ethyl market, which leads to significant fluctuations in prices. Manufactures survive in the low price of competition.

It is showed that the demand of herbicide has become larger in early 2011, such as glyphosate, paraquat, and tribenuron-methly. And the prices of herbicide products will rise while the prices of acetochlor and butachlor will drop. As acetochlor and butachlor have been used more than 30 years, weeds become resistant to them, which lead to the demand decrease. As for insecticide, the demand for chlorpyrifos, acephate, abamectin and other pesticide technicals rise. Growth greatly in demand and prices concentrates in the products listed after 21st century.

Recently, a series of new environment-friendly pesticide products have come into the domestic market and more and more attention has been paid to pesticide R&D and  safety. Technology development of plant protection will accelerate improvement in new-type pesticide market.
