ADM-Benson Quinn builds grain elevator in Minnesota

ADM-Benson Quinn, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), announced that it will construct a shuttle loader grain elevator in St. Joseph Township near St. Cloud, Minnesota, US.

The new facility will include grain drying capabilities and four bins with a total storage capacity of 3.2 million bushels. The elevator will originate corn and soy from regional farmers primarily for transportation by 110-car shuttle trains to the Pacific Northwest for export to Asian markets.

"Crop production in central Minnesota has increased significantly over the past five years," said Scott Nagel, president of ADM-Benson Quinn. "ADM-Benson Quinn is expanding its grain storage and transportation capabilities in this area to meet regional growers' need for an efficient, conveniently located grain elevator that offers grain drying and a wide range of services and marketing options for their crops."

Construction is scheduled to begin in August this year, and is expected to be completed in September 2012.
