Viterra Inc., Canada''s grain industry leader, plans to build a high throughput grain elevator at Kindersley, Saskatchewan (SK) with a storage capacity of 34,000 tonnes and a 108 railcar spot.

Kyle Jeworski, Viterra''s president and chief executive officer for North America said, "Viterra has a long history of serving farm customers in the Kindersley area, and we are pleased to build on this relationship through a new state of the art facility. This project supports our ongoing strategy to optimise our footprint, and ideally positions us to provide our customers with expert advice and the best marketing opportunities domestically and around the world."

Headquartered in Regina, SK, Viterra has invested heavily in Western Canada''s grain handling system. Over the last several years, the company has proactively made a series of infrastructure investments in its asset network to promote the efficient movement of agricultural commodities.

Most recently in SK, Viterra announced it is spending over CAD$20 million (US$18.13 million) to upgrade four of its Saskatchewan grain terminals at White Star, Humboldt, Waldron and Ituna. It has also recently completed similar expansions at Gull Lake, SK and Fairlight, SK. In Alberta, Viterra has announced it is spending over CAD$34 million (US$30.81 million) through an expansion and upgrade to its facility in Grassy Lake, as well as building a high throughput terminal in Grimshaw.
