Increased supply, flat demand weaken China lysine prices

Lysine prices continued to fall during the week ending July 1.

The availability of lysine increased as producers stepped up production of late. Meanwhile, domestic demand continued to remain slack due to weak livestock markets and ample inventories of end users.

Price quotes of 65-percent lysine and 70-percent lysine were at RMB5/kg and RMB6-6.50/kg respectively.

With export demand softer, domestic sales slow and output higher, China's lysine market will be under pressure.

RMB1=US$0.1612 (Jul 1)
