Minister Han Changfu meets with Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation

Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Ibrahim Mahmod Hamid, Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation of the Republic of Sudan, in Beijing on April 25th, 2014. The two sides exchanged views on boosting China-Sudan agricultural cooperation in an all-rounded manner.
During the meeting, Minister Han spoke highly of the cooperation between the two sides on Agri-technology Demonstration Center, fielding of Chinese experts to work in Sudan and personnel training under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Minister Han put forward six suggestions for future cooperation between China and Sudan:
First, to increase exchange of high-level visits to expand consensus on cooperation;
Second, to work together to move toward sustainable development of the Agri-technology Demonstration Center established by China in Sudan;
Third, to facilitate cooperation between banks and agribusinesses to finance the China-Sudan Agricultural Development Zone;
Fourth, to intensify cooperation on agricultural Science and Technology;
Fifth, to expand cooperation in human resource development including training activities;
Sixth, to promote sound and rapid development in two-way agricultural trade between China and Sudan.
Hamid strongly agreed with Minister Han''s comments on bilateral agricultural cooperation and suggestions for future cooperation. He also expressed thanks for assistance and support of China in agriculture and his wishes to further upgrade China-Sudan agricultural cooperation.
Mr. Bi Meijia, MOA Chief Economist and Director-General of General Office,and Mr.Omar Issa Ahmad, Sudanese Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
