On May 21, the first CNPC-sponsored training program for Sudan's Ministry of Energy and Mining was completed in Beijing. CNPC Vice-President Zhou Jiping and Sudanese Ambassador to China Mirghani Mohamed Salih issued certificates to the 20 Sudanese engineers and managers who took part.

CNPC paid much attention to the sharing of experiences in the training program, which focused on building a group of high-quality managerial and technical talents for Sudan's oil industry. The first training program lasted a period of two months, covering oil and gas exploration and development, refining and chemicals, pipeline engineering and business management.
